Mikel Arteta almost gave a perfect loss yesterday.
Six players were absent.
The city faced a team at full strength.
The city received a lot of questions from Arsenal.
The defeat was slight. We almost didn’t get hurt, but now that we know Thomas Partey felt something, we know he will have a rib scan later today.
That is a huge problem for the people of China. Party’s exit made the difference between a draw and a loss. Sambi is not yet at a level where he can dominate a City midfield. The Belgian made a mistake that created the space that Nathan Ake used to score.
Be fair to Sambi; he was not at all terrible; he just isn’t Thomas Partey. We can’t keep shaming players for not playing for the first team.
… but now we have a huge issue. I’ve been trying to tell people that broken ribs can be run off of, but it’s hard to argue with Arsenal fans who have broken their ribs and insist that this is a serious injury that could take up to six weeks to heal.
DAMN.
That would be awful. They dropped a reducer on Thomas yesterday, and now it looks like it could be a very difficult blow to manage. The city may have been bland yesterday.
When Caciedo went on all of his social media platforms last night to beg Mr. Bloom to let him leave so he could feed his family, there was even more drama. It was a request for a transfer. It was shocking and not very professional, but when you pay a man £180,000 per year and Arsenal offers him £100,000 per week, you have to expect him to beg to leave the club.
I doubt Brighton will be interested in the transaction. Brighton needs to keep their team going, and selling a £60 million player in January does not help them move forward. They have let a number of players go over the past year. Mr. Bloom is also probably concerned about the impact that allowing this kind of behavior will have on his dressing room.
It hurts a little bit to watch this all happen. We have known for two years that TP poses a threat to our success, but we still lack an adequate number. Our Premier League season rests on Sambi Lokonga, a player who stormed off the field without thanking the fans and has found a rich vein of title-winning form three days before the window closes.
You can’t escape that pain right now.
Returning to some benefits Have you noticed the incline that separates Trossard from Martinelli? Actually, no. In fact, Gabi appeared even more explosive than usual upon his arrival. Trossard played a fantastic game; his passing with a single touch is stunning; he is acutely aware of his surroundings; and he has a fantastic shot on him. The ease with which he has clicked is very encouraging.
Additionally, Matt Turner played extremely well. He knew how to control his box well. He caught Bob Holding making a silly mistake early on. He also kicked with a lot of force. He was to blame for the goal because the pass was so well-placed that he couldn’t get to it.
Fabio Vieira’s game had some good parts, but he still hasn’t fully clicked. He’s only in his first season, and not everyone gets into the first team like that.
What is my overall opinion of the game against the City?
Arteta will not be asking as many questions of his own team as Pep will.
Our second unit performed admirably against the league’s best team. That is truly remarkable. Each and every one of those players on the field desired to be included in the lineup for the Everton match. That’s a positive culture in action right now.
Imagine what we could accomplish with our first team in a few weeks if we could accomplish that with our second string. might be very sexual. Mr. Partey’s fitness does play a significant role in a lot of that.
