In a Premier League match on Sunday, Serge Aurier helped Nottingham Forest draw with Graham Potter’s team 1-1, causing Chelsea to lose more points.

Serge Aurier’s second-half goal on Sunday helped Nottingham Forest draw with Graham Potter’s team, resulting in a 1-1 draw in the Premier League.

With their first win in six games, Chelsea got off to a good start. Raheem Sterling scored his first league goal since August 2022 to give Chelsea the lead early.

Morgan Gibbs-White’s drilled half volley, on the other hand, missed the underside of the crossbar and bounced off the goal line as Nottingham gained momentum. In the 63rd minute, Aurier scored his first goal to bring the score level.

Even though Nottingham was in control, they were unable to completely change the game. In the standings, Chelsea is eighth, seven points behind Manchester United, which is fourth. Meanwhile, Nottingham moved up to 18th place, sharing 14 points with West Ham, keeping them in the relegation zone.

Graham Potter, the coach of Chelsea, stated, “I think overall when the game was controlled in the first half I don’t think we did well enough, our performance level was not good enough, didn’t move the ball fast enough.” They make use of their advantages, which include the crowd and the setting. We didn’t have enough control in the second half.

Steve Cooper, the Nottingham coach, stated, ” Although I am aware that we did not win today, it served as a useful point of reference for our ability to compete against major league teams. We are in charge of our future, and we must keep growing.”

On January 5, Nottingham will play Southampton, and on January 6, Chelsea will play Manchester City.
