The club has granted Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho a leave of absence to help him regain the mental and physical fitness he needs following his exit from the FIFA World Cup.

Erik ten Hag, manager of Manchester United, does not have a timetable for Jadon Sancho’s return. In an interview with The Guardian, Ten Hag confirmed the news and stated that he must remain patient regarding the situation.

“I would like to have Jadon back as soon as possible; I will do everything in my power, but there are some processes that you can’t force, and one of them is this one. Therefore, I must also exhibit patience, even though I lack the patience because we lack frontline opportunities,” ten Hag stated in the interview.

Sancho was sent to train alone in the Netherlands after becoming unfit following the FIFA World Cup break. After Sancho was left out of England’s FIFA World Cup roster, he deleted images from his Instagram account.

Regarding the player’s progress, the manager stated, “We have some hurdles to take, but I think he’s in a good direction.”

He is not fit enough right now, no. Physical, I said. However, the connection between mental and physical also exists. He will benefit from the fact that he is currently making significant physical progress. Ten Hag concluded, “I hope he can return quickly, but I can’t say how long it will be.”

Despite their success in the restart of the Premier League, Manchester United are short-staffed at the front following Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure. United could have used a temporary solution if they had been able to hire their primary target, Cody Gakpo, but they were unable to do so.
