Gareth Bale, a professional footballer from Wales, announced his retirement from the club and international competition on Monday, January 9. A few days after the conclusion of the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar, the 33-year-old made the decision.
Bale, who was born in Cardiff, scored once in Wales’ three matches, but Wales failed to advance past the group stage after losing two of those matches.
Bale posted a note on Instagram expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to play professional football after hanging his boots. Bale became emotional and detailed his journey in his post. He also expressed gratitude to his family, supervisors, and other coworkers for their assistance throughout his career.
Bale, regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, made 394 appearances in his career, beginning in 2006, scoring 141 goals.
