Qatar football association owns the lugsail stadium, and this stadium is the largest stadium among the other 7 stadiums which are converted for football matches. 

With the Lusail Super Cup game, Lusail Stadium was inaugurated on 9th September 2022. During the match, the lusail stadium will be cooled using solar power and it also has zero carbon footprint. 

This 80,000-seat stadium will be converted into 40,000 seat stadium. And the space of the stadium will be turned into a cafe, athletic and into facilities for education like schools and colleges. 

#3 Al-Janoub Stadium

Al-Janoub Stadium also known as Al-Wakrah Stadium located in Qatar. An Iraqi-British architect designed this stadium. It has 40,000 seats of capacity in the stadium and will be reduced to 20,000 once the FIFA World Cup ends. 

The design of the roof was inspired by the sails of Dhow boats which are traditional, which are used by pearl divers of the Persian Gulf.

This stadium is located in the south of Doha about 22km. A semifinal match of the 24th Arabian Gulf Cup was hosted in this stadium. During FIFA Arab Cup 2021 the stadium hosted six matches.

This stadium is mainly built for community-based activities. The curvilinear roof references the history of seafaring, giving the feeling of being on a ship. This stadium also has a cooling system to prevent people from overheating as Qatar’s climate is hot.

The facilities in this stadium include a swimming pool, multipurpose room, shopping centers, and a spa with green roofs. It is also planned to build more facilities like a wooded square entrance to the stadium, wedding hall, school, horse riding, running tracks, restaurants, gyms, and marketplaces in the long run.

#4 Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium

Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium also known as AI-Rayyan Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium in AI Rayyan, Qatar. And this stadium is currently used for football matches. 

This stadium consists of 40,000 seating capacity. The former stadium was demolished to make a way for AI Rayyan Stadium in 2015.

The inauguration of this stadium took place on the National Day of Qatar on 18th December 2020. This stadium was also the venue for the 2020 FIFA Club World Cup. This stadium hosted four matches during FIFA Arab Cup 2021.

#5 Khalifa International Stadium

Khalifa International Stadium is also known as National Stadium and is the only stadium that has received a 4-star rating around the world from the Global Sustainability Assessment System. 

Khalifa International stadium is one of the eight stadiums which is converted to the FIFA World Cup and is also the first stadium to be finished. 

Around 30,000 workers are employed in this stadium. 

The migrant workers were from India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Pakistan. Around 6500 migrant workers died from 2010 to 2020 in Qatar. 

#6 Education City Stadium

Education City Stadium is nicknamed “Diamond in the Desert” as its building materials consist of green, and this stadium is among the world’s environmentally sustainable stadiums.

Education City Stadium is a stadium for football games which is located in AI Rayyan, Qatar and is built for the FIFA World Cup held in Qatar. This stadium is located within the campuses of several universities near the Qatar Foundations Education City.

#7 A1 Thumana Stadium

AI Thumama Stadium is a joint venture between AI Jaber Engineering of Qatar and Tekfen Construction of Turkey and is located near Hamad International Airport.

The architectural design takes its inspiration from the traditional taqiyah hat, which is worn by men across the Middle East.

It was on October 22, 2021, the inauguration took place on the occasion of the Emir Cup Final. There were also six matches that were hosted during the FIFA Arab Cup 2021 tournament which included a semi-final match.
